Sustainability

Steve Ledson’s family has been farming sustainable since its beginning in 1865. At Ledson Winery & Vineyard, we have always believed that producing exceptional wine begins with a deep respect for both the land and the people who cultivate it. Our unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship and the fair treatment of our employees is at the heart of everything we do, reflected in the very essence of our wines.

Since 2021, we’ve proudly received sustainability certification from the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance (CSWA), a testament to our dedication. All 18 of our vineyards across Sonoma and Mendocino Counties, along with our winery production facility, are certified, with third-party verification ensuring we meet and exceed rigorous standards. Each year, we demonstrate ongoing improvements and implement action plans to further enhance our sustainable practices.

According to the CSWA, being a sustainable winegrower and winemaker means cultivating high-quality grapes and crafting exceptional wines while protecting the environment, supporting our communities, and ensuring economic viability. By prioritizing sustainability, we not only produce world-class wines but also secure the future of our family business for generations to come, ensuring that we remain responsible stewards of the land and good neighbors in our community.
